Is the ATS checker really AI?
No, and we'd rather say that plainly than oversell it. It's rule-based analysis: it checks for things like a detectable email and phone number, common section headings, resume length, bullet point usage, action verbs, and quantified results (numbers and percentages). Every point in the score maps to a specific, statable reason, not a hidden model.
How accurate is a real ATS score compared to this tool?
This tool checks for well-known, broadly-agreed-upon resume best practices that most real ATS systems and recruiters respond well to — but every company's actual ATS software is different and this tool can't see the specific job posting or system you're applying through. Treat the score as a genuinely useful sanity check, not a guarantee.
Is my resume data saved anywhere?
No — everything in the builder lives only in your browser tab's memory while you're using it, and the ATS checker's file processing happens entirely locally too. Closing or refreshing the page clears your data, so keep your PDF downloads.
Why isn't my resume's exact formatting preserved in the ATS checker?
The checker extracts and analyzes the underlying text, the same way many real ATS systems do — visual formatting like columns or graphics isn't part of what's being scored, since ATS software generally can't reliably parse those either.
