This calculator shows how a savings or investment balance grows over time, combining a one-time initial deposit with ongoing regular contributions, compounded at whatever frequency you choose. It's the same math behind savings accounts, retirement accounts, and recurring investment plans (like an SIP).
Compound interest is interest calculated on both your original balance and the interest it has already earned. Over long periods, this compounding effect can make a much bigger difference than the interest rate alone — which is why starting early and compounding more frequently both help, even with the same rate and contributions.
The more often interest is added to your balance, the sooner it starts earning its own interest. Daily compounding at the same annual rate will always produce a slightly higher final balance than annual compounding, though the difference is usually small compared to the effect of the rate itself or how long you invest.
Is this a guaranteed return?
No. This tool projects growth at a fixed rate you choose. Real savings and investment returns vary and are never guaranteed — treat this as a planning estimate, not a promise.
Does this include taxes or fees?
No. Interest income may be taxable and many investment accounts carry fees — neither is factored in here, so your real result will likely be somewhat lower.
What's the difference between nominal and real value?
Nominal is the actual future dollar amount. Real (inflation-adjusted) value converts that back into today's purchasing power, so you can see what your future balance is actually worth.
Is my data saved anywhere?
No. Everything is calculated locally in your browser and nothing is uploaded or stored.
