Text or logo watermark?

A text watermark is quick: type your name or website, then adjust size, colour and opacity. A logo watermark uses any uploaded image, ideally a PNG with a transparent background, so your brand mark sits cleanly on top of the photo. You can place it using one of five presets or drag it exactly where you want on the image.

Placement and opacity tips

• Corner placement is subtle and keeps the picture looking professional, but is easier to crop out.
• Centre or diagonal placement is harder to remove, which suits previews, proofs and photos you sell.
• Opacity around 30 to 60% keeps the mark visible without hiding the subject.
• Contrast: use a light mark on dark images and a dark mark on light images.

Protecting and branding your images

A watermark discourages casual reuse and credits you when pictures are shared, but it cannot stop determined copying, so keep your unwatermarked originals and publish watermarked versions only.
